Turkey Has Higher Infant Mortality Rate Than Gaza

Huh? Well, it's actually true, according to CIA World Factbook. Here are the numbers:

Turkey        : 24.84 deaths/1,000 live births
Gaza Strip  : 17.71 deaths/1,000 live births
Malaysia  : 15.37 deaths/1,000 live births
(We're not that much far ahead actually)

Anyway, if you didn't already know, lower figures are more desirable for an Infant Mortality Rate statistics (only possible with a better health condition of a country, i.e better hospital, adequate medical supplies, good hygiene, enough food). Let's make another comparison, just to prove my point:
North Korea : 50.15 deaths/1,000 live births
South Korea  : 4.24 deaths/1,000 live births

So why aren't we sending medical supplies to North Korea?

  1. Hello,
We need you to think before you write please. Dont be a fool.

How can you relate numbers of death and birth to the oppression that the Palestinian? They are being treated like animals, no food, no infrastructure (cause being bombed away everyday).

Can you even validify the statistic that you post here? I know for sure the answer is not.

Yes. You can be safe and comfortable at home. Eating food. Have good education. You do not need to think about other people.

You can stay as selfish as you are. May God help you.

  2. Hey Anon 8:29,

I was merely pointing out a finding from CIA World Factbook. You can kindly click on the link I provided above to verify the numbers.

As to how they got those figures? Find out for yourself.

If you refuse to accept their findings, fine. But is it wrong for me to point out these numbers? I don't think so. If you want to watch images of Gazans suffering, treated like animals etc, please google them yourself - I'm sure there are many results.

I HAVE THE PREROGATIVE TO POST WHATEVER I WANT.
AND PLEASE don't accuse me of fabricating these figures on my own.

    Welcome to MY BLOG.

Thanks for your comment anyway. Please don't hesitate to comment on other issues as well.
Do come back for more updates.

Are you really going to become a doctor? You cant even read numbers.

If you are going to become a doctor then you should know better to learn about methodology of where datas or information comes from before making any inferences. Cause different mothods will give you different numbers/datas, and that HAVE to be taken into consideration before making any conclusion. Imagine yourself with a patients chart, if you cant even understand where those numbers are from, how could you make any inferences?

Now for the numbers that you publish here. I know you dont really care if its right or wrong because you dont really care but at least get the facts right.

    1. You did not take into consideration that whats publish on that site is only ratios of births vs deaths of INFANTS only. Deaths of YOUTHS and ADULTS is not there. This only proves that the people in Gaza Strip are better parents than those in Malaysia and Korea?

    2. The data could be only from the hospitals. Places such as the Gaza Strip do have hospitals but do most women conceive there in a rundown hospital? Also deaths of women and infants from bomb blast might not taken into account.

    3. Did you also consider that the number of birth vs death include the birth and death of infants of the Israelist intruder at the Gaza Strip?

better hospital, adequate medical supplies, good hygiene, enough food?

Hello, your data does not give you anything of what you mentioned as above. How can you just assume that places such as the Gaza Strip have better hospitals, better medical supplies, better hygiene and even have food?

You are making assumptions that Korea is a rundown dying country? Wake up and open your eyes, they are damn rich. They have money, power, hospitals, food etc. So much resource that they can spend money on high tech weapons, even nuclear weapon if they want to.

And you are also making assuptions that Gaza Strip have food, better hospitals? Hello, please go back to the real world. They do not have good medical facilities. They do not have food. They get food by smuggling over the border. Their land taken away, the fertile farms are savaged by the Zionist everyday. And here you are boasting about the Koreans need help? (you are ignorant and selfish)

Oh, you can say anything because this is "MY BLOG". Well I can see why most bloggers write nonsense thinking that they are always RIGHT.

  4. I did not accuse you of fabricating datas. I only ask you to validify the data.

    Validify: justify

They might taught you in Med Schools about this, when you get data, you should know where and how the data is derived from. Then only you can make discussion and conclusion.

The way I see it, when you got the data from the CIA site, you didnt even bother to know how or where they get it from. Then you make some discussion and conclusion based on your own assumption (that you made up in your mind).
Example: Korea needs medical supplies more than the Palestinian does?

Why Koreans have high infants death rate? Please look at the data for starters, its just rate per 1000 births. The real number of births not given. They round up the numbers so that its over 1000 births.

If there are only 200 births and 3 deaths only in a year then they will round it up to 15 deaths/1000 births. This will make the data looks good for a country (like the CIA data of the Gaza Strip you believe in). In this case, things that should be taken into consideration is the number of population in the place, the real number of death and birth (not just ratios), the condition of the country, etc. You are the Med student so you should at least think better than that.

Secondly, stop making assumptions just based on numbers. Numbers can lie. This is why I ask you to validify data which I know that obviously you did not take into account before you write this post. You didnt learn statistics in Med School?

Thirdly, I hope you learn to respect criticism and you need to learn to think critically.

  5. Appreciate your reply Anon. Now this is what we call freedom of speech - you have your say, and I have mine.

I WELCOME anyone's comment - from those who thinks I'm stupid, arrogant, ignorant, selfish, moronic, foolish, blind, deaf.. whatever. Whatever you want to accuse me of, that won't change the numbers above, sadly.

Fine, if you want to put words into my mouth, but I did NOT say that Gaza has LOW death rate in total. I have CLEARLY indicated that these figures are concerned with INFANT mortality rate.

I NEVER SAID GAZA HAS BETTER HEALTH CARE. That is your folly conclusion of what I'm saying. So if you dont see any links between HEALTH CARE and INFANT MORTALITY RATE, I don't think it's of any use for you to argue with me anymore.

I can censor this information i.e. ignore them, but I chose to share with everyone, including you. I can say whatever I want in MY BLOG, however emotionally painful (sadly) it is for you. Maybe you should blog (to voice out your opinion on this matter). Calling me 'ignorant' won't get our discussion anywhere.

Isn't blogging a wonderful invention? Even when people thinks you're writing nonsense there is NO WAY they can deny you your right of writing your blog (unless they take legal action). Too bad for those dissenters (who always thought that THEY are always right).
